I am about to buy a Kalmar Tjorven

Hi everyone,

It has been a while, but our Kalmar slowly but steady is coming back to life.
My dad has made it it's personal mission to make it better than it was when it left the factory...

Last weekend we put the body back on the chassis (we had to wait for the rubbers to be produced via DAF club). I added some pictures (will share some more later).

Most parts we have managed to find or renovate, but there is one (small) detail that is actually a bit annoying. The hinges of the hood are 2 different types, but we cannot find one or 2 new/similar ones. Is there anyone who can help us with that?

Really nice work!

The hinges for the hood you have are both original for Kalmar Tjorven and we have not find them on another car/truck, yet. Maby they are only made for Kalmar Tjorven?

However you have one of each, the early one (slim one for 1969) and the later one (ca 1970-1971). I can maby help you to find one so you have two identical.

What rubbers had been produced by the DAF club?

The car is from 1970, so it does not really matter which one you can find...

Daf club has the mounting rubbers (on which the body rests on the chassis) reproduced.
My dad is a volunteer there nowadays and persuaded them to produce them (there were some others that actually needed them as well)

I found two hinges, not quite shiny as yours, which side do you need?

Do you have a part number for the mounting rubbers? I dont find them in DAF-club.nl webshop. I think there are two different ones on one car?

Of this type we have the right hinge, so we need the left one then.
Ours were not that shiny either, but an hour of polishing will get you a long way

The mounting rubbers have just arrived, so they might not be uploaded to the website yet. I will check with my dad.
You are right about 2 versions, the ones with the mounting bolts welded on them (as in the picture) and the ones with mounting holes. As I understood they only produced the ones with the bolts on them and we removed those bolts where applicable (for the rear centre one and the frond rubbers I believe).

I will send you a private message for the hinge.

The mounting rubbers are not yet on the Daf webshop, but the article number is 525784 for the set of 7 rubbers.
(I suppose if you send them a message you should be able to order them)
